Admission has started in IGNOU for Phd in Psychology for the session July 2025. Those interested can enroll in the program before the last tentative date of 15th July 2025. The duration of this program is 3 to 6 years with a total fee of INR 15,000 to INR 55,000. Candidates must have passed a Master’s degree in psychology or equivalent. 

IGNOU conducts admission 2 times in a year, in January and July sessions. The July session admission gets started in May every year, so you can apply for admission directly by visiting the official website portal of IGNOU

IGNOU PhD Psychology Admission Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants need to have a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% of marks for general caste and 50% for reserved category students, or equal to in the relevant field, to get qualified for admission in the PhD program at IGNOU. 5% of special relaxation is granted for the students who are from other categories like SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or differently abled.

• Must have a master’s degree from a UGC approved university in a similar specialization or equivalent.
• Students are required to have a master’s degree with a minimum of 55% of marks for the general category and 50% for reserved category students belonging to (SC, ST, OBC) or students with any kind of disability
• If you have done an M.Phil degree ( with at least 55% of marks or equivalent score) are also eligible for the Phd admission.
• Individuals with a four-year bachelor’s degree can also apply for Phd if they have scored a minimum of 75% of marks in UG degree.

IGNOU PhD fee range can basically depend upon the INR 15,000 to INR 55,000. The duration of the program is 3 to 6 years, so the fee range can change accordingly. Additional fees may be included in this total fee, such as registration, research fee, or practical work fee, etc. 

IGNOU PhD Psychology Admission Process (Online)

The Admission Process for Phd in IGNOU involves an entrance test, registration, and a personal interview. Applicants need to qualify for the entrance test or should have an M.Phil degree. Selected candidates are invited for the interview, where the subject domain, communication skills are checked.
