Candidates reporting timing is 10 AM and registration timing is 10 to 11 AM. There will be no registration after 11 AM. Interview will be held in offline mode. Before the interview, you will be asked to write an essay to check your writing skill. Selected candidates will have to do a 6-month course in Delhi campus and no accommodation will be given by IGNOU. You will have to bring a 5-page proposal in the interview and it is mandatory to bring 10 copies of the research proposal.

IGNOU PhD Admission 2024-25
Admission to the PhD programs offered by IGNOU started for the 2024-25 academic session in July 2024*. They can complete the application forms on the university’s official web portal – @ignou.ac.in. Those who want to pursue any of their desired doctoral courses at the IGNOU will have to make sure that they have a relevant master’s degree with a duration of 1 to 2 years and have an aggregate score of a minimum of 55%. IGNOU carries out the admission process in 2 phases; an entrance exam and an interview session. INR 1,000 will also have to be paid by the applicants during the application process.
Indira Gandhi National Open University conducts an entrance exam to carry out the admission process for doctoral courses. Those who have qualified in other PhD entrance exams like UGC NET, CEED, GATE, or UGC CSIR NET are also eligible for admission to the doctoral programs. 70% of the criteria for admission is dependent on their performance in the entrance exam and 30% of the remaining will be based on the interview session’
Key Factor For IGNOU PhD Admission
- Candidates with a valid UGC NET JRF or a valid UGC NET score from 2024 are eligible for PhD admission, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.
- The eligibility requires for the IGNOU PhD Admission are as follows:
- A 1-year (2-semester) master’s degree after a 4-year (8-semester) bachelor’s degree, or
- A 2-year (4-semester) master’s degree after a 3-year bachelor’s degree, or

IGNOU PhD Entrance Examination 2025
Students who want to pursue any PhD programs at Indira Gandhi National Open University in the upcoming academic session of 2025-26 will have to appear in the entrance examination conducted by the university.
