IGNOU MA Anthropology Admission 2025-26
Master of Arts in Anthropology is a 2 year Post graduate course offered in IGNOU in Open Distance Learning. This course is put forward under the School of Social Sciences. This 2 year course can be extended up to 4 years also. During this course, students study human beings in space and time. This programme was founded with the aim of training anthropologists in academic and research Institutes, NGOs etc. This course used theoretical and practical techniques to teach concepts. For the July, 2025 session, admissions have already commenced and you can apply till 15th July, 2025.
IGNOU MA Anthropology Admission Process
To apply for admission in MA Anthropology at IGNOU, follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Visit the IGNOU official website ignou.ac.in and go to the admission area on the home page. Click on Apply for ODL Programs underneath the admission section.
STEP 2: It will open a new Samarth Portal and Click on New Registration. Enter your details for making an account with the active email address and mobile number. Fill in the OTP as it will help you create Username and password.
STEP 3: Login again on the website with the username and password. Fill the Application form with the required personal, academic and family information.
STEP 4: Submit the Scanned copies of the documents Required. List of Documents required is underneath.
STEP 5: Click on Submit. It will show you the summary of the Information submitted. Re-check the information just mentioned and click on Make Payment.
STEP 6: Complete the payment through UPI/Debit/Credit card.
STEP 7: Download the acknowledgement slip and save it for future reference.
MA Anthropology IGNOU Eligibility
Minimum Qualification: Candidate must have completed Bachelor’s degree or even a higher degree from a recognized University.
Minimum Percentage: The minimum requirement is 50% for general and 45% for SC/ST/OBC/OWD Categories.
Age Limit: There is no age limit for pursuing MA Anthropology from IGNOU.

IGNOU MA Anthropology Fees
Tuition Fees for MA Anthropology per year is INR 9500/-. There is an extra Registration and Development fee that is to be paid along with the Tuition fee. The Development fee is INR 300/- and registration fees is INR 300/-. The total tuition fee for 2 years is INR 18,600/-. You can pay the fees via Netbanking/Debit/Credit card. There is also an exam fee of INR 200/- per course for theory and INR 300/- for practical courses that is to be paid before every term end examination. The exam fee is mostly decided by the university and is not fixed. You can also check the payment status on the samarth website by logging in with your username and password.
